Most Americans Think That English Should Be Official Language- UPDATE BELOW!

After searching the web for some interesting news for you, I came across a great new Rasmussen Poll, stating that 89% of Americans now think that English should be the United States official language. They also report that 10 % believe that it would be bigotry to allow that to be that case, whereas the rest rejected that idea.

Citing from another Rasmussen Poll, 50% of Americans "hold an unfavorable opinion" of those who protested few weeks ago around the country in opposition to the new Arizona law that would allow local police forces to question a persons nationality.

I find these figures to be self-sustaining in that most Americans feel that with the continued illegal alien problem, our sovereignty is being violated. I can show at least some documentation that this is more of a real problem than most people are willing to admit. Aside from having served as an LDS missionary in Tucson, AZ and in Las Cruces, NM and seeing both sides of the story, the fact remains that not only is the flood of undocumented workers unacceptable, there is a real drug problem associated with illegal immigration. I would recommend to all of you to go and watch Border Wars on the NatGeo channel if you have it. It goes into great detail on this problem, especially with drugs. You will be surprised to learn on this television series that illegal immigration is actually a thriving economy within towns on the Mexican side of the Mexican-American boarder.

UPDATE-

The LA Times is reporting that the Los Angeles city counsel has voted through a resolution with only one dissenting vote to allow a boycott of Arizona commerce. I can only think of two words to describe such an act: Asinine and Stupid. If they actually go through with this, it can financially hurt businesses and people who had nothing at all to do with Arizona's new law. The Los Angeles city counsel is just looking for some sort of scapegoat for their decidedly misplaced and unfounded rage. It's hard to believe that people would think that this kind of action would be warranted.
