3 Reasons Independence Day Is Still A Great Movie

Welcome To Earth

I've got a lot to say about why you should bother renting or buying this and making an evening of this movie. Or a morning if you're a fat lazy slob like I know I can be.

I'll just give you three simple reasons to glue yourself to the couch for this.

  1. Classic good v. evil. And it's done very well. You can only love to hate the aliens that are only there to annihilate Earth.
  2. Though the type of characters in this movie are seen throughout cinema all the time, the director strikes a great balance between all the heroes. Randy Quaid as the bumbling goof seeks revenge for past wrongs; Bill Pullman did a good job as a leader who needs to prove himself; Will Smith, the over-achiever that sought greatness but not through war. And last but not least Jeff Goldbloom who always did the nerd/geek sweet justice in this type of movie.
  3. Explosions. Lots of 'em. They're all still pretty to look at.
Well, there you have it. 3 reasons to waste two hours on a movie. No one can get pissed off at you now. You have 3 solid reasons to back your position.
